Frequently Asked Questions

What happens in therapy?

Essentially it is two persons in conversation. That’s how it looks from outside. The therapeutic process is much more complex. It involves a lot of uncovering, retrospection, acceptance and expression which is done primarily by the client with psychological support from the therapist. There might also be mindfulness or thought or feeling-based activities explored in session.

How will you decide the number of sessions per month?

It is decided by the client as per their monthly budget. Depending on the severity of the issue, the therapist might provide a suggestion; but it’s up to the client to decide this. Between two sessions, the therapist might assign you tasks that you need to complete in your personal time and space to evaluate and document the progression in therapy.

Can I have more than one session a week?

If you want, you definitely can. It is decided by the client as per their monthly budget. Depending on the severity of the issue, the therapist might provide a suggestion; but it’s up to the client to decide this.

How long will therapy last for?

It differs for every client. It depends on the severity of the issue and the client’s motivation and commitment to work in therapy.

How much time does an appointment take?

A one-time exploratory session is for 30 minutes. Individual appointments are for 50 minutes plus 10 minutes buffer time. Family or Couple sessions are for 75 minutes plus 15 minutes buffer time.

Are there a number of sessions I can expect to feel better in?

We can’t commit any exact number of sessions but as you discover more parts of yourself and are able to look at them with loving eyes, you will definitely start feeling better.

How does the therapy process go?

Please visit the “Book Appointment” section on this website. Booking a session is a button click away. Please make sure that you have read the policy and filled up the intake form. What if I need to reschedule or cancel a session?

As per our policy statement, you need to inform via email a minimum of 48 hours before. MindBodyAlly is a small organization and adhering to the notice period protocol helps us value and respect both the therapist’s as well as your time. Within 3 days of a scheduled appointment, any reschedule request will depend on the therapist’s availability and a cancellation request will mean forfeit of consultation fees. If the therapist cancels or reschedules a session, then she will do so before the stipulated 3 days. In case they do it later than the 3rd last day, we will be liable to refund the full fees or provide a compensatory session at the earliest possible.

What is the approach that is used by the therapists?

We use evidence-based integrative approaches leaning towards client-centered humanistic methods. Our experienced therapists use multiple globally acknowledged modalities.

What are your work hours?

Our work hours vary. Select a slot from the calendar on the website for the therapist you choose as your psychologist.

Do you offer a sliding scale?
